As an independent local organization serving the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA) provides services and support for people with Parkinson's disease, strives to raise awareness about the disease and the search for a cure, and supports research into the cause and cure for Parkinson's disease. PFNCA maintains an extensive support groups network throughout the National Capital Area for patients and caregivers, as well as weekly therapeutic exercise programs in Arlington, Fairfax, and Bethesda. The Foundation publishes Parkinson Update, a quarterly newsletter for the community, which features articles on new treatments, coping with the disease, and promising research advances. PFNCA also distributes educational materials, and it holds symposia and informational meetings. The Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area will continue its mission to fund research and to provide services to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson's disease and their families through education and outreach until a cure is found. PFNCA is an independently incorporated nonprofit organization. All contributions received are tax deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. |
